Yes. Felt piano is one of the most played textures in Calm Study, and slow piano pieces run through Deep Focus too. What gets a track in is restraint at the keyboard: slow loops or slow pieces, a soft attack, the room and the pedal in the recording, and a dynamic range that never jumps. Pedal noise is welcome. A sudden fortissimo is not.

Why tracks get turned down
- Sudden loud passages. One fortissimo chord in an otherwise soft piece is enough to refuse it.
- Virtuosic runs and melodies that ask to be followed. Technique reads as an event at a desk.
- Bright, close, dry recordings. A concert piano sound with no room and no softening is hard to keep on at low volume.
Before you send
- Record with the felt on, or lower the velocity curve if it is a digital piano. Softness is the first thing curators hear.
- Leave the noise in. Pedal creak, hammer thud and the room are part of why people keep these tracks running.
- Send a slow piece and a loop-based piece if you have both. They land in different sessions and double your chance of a fit.

Can piano pieces be short?
They can, but a set of two-minute pieces is hard to sequence. Six minutes and up, or a suite of shorter pieces joined into one track, works best.
