Music for

Music for night workafter everyone else logs off.

Play something darker, steadier and quieter than your daytime music, and let it fade with you. Night work is done with tired ears in a silent room, where daytime mixes sound harsh and bass carries through walls. Late Shift is mastered softer, keeps the low end light, and gets sparser the longer it runs.

Why it works for night work

Mastered for midnight

A softer master than the daytime sessions, easier on ears that have been listening since morning.

Bass that stays in the room

Low end kept light so it works at very low volume in a quiet flat, without reaching the neighbours.

Energy that lets go

The session gets quieter and sparser as it runs. It does not try to keep you awake; it keeps you company while you finish.

How to use it

  • Turn the screen down and the music down together. Late Shift is designed for very low volume; if it feels quiet, that is right.
  • Set an end. The session is open-ended so it will not stop you, which means you have to.
  • If you are working late because of a deadline, use Deep Focus first and switch to Late Shift for the last hour.

Common questions

Will it keep me awake?

It is not designed to. Late Shift keeps you company and lets the energy drop; if you need to stay sharp, coffee and Deep Focus are the honest answer.

Why is it quieter than the other sessions?

Because rooms are quieter at night and ears are more tired. A daytime master sounds harsh at one in the morning; a softer one sits where the room is.

Can I submit music for this session specifically?

Yes. Artists say so on their application and curators route their tracks there first.

Make music for night work?

Every session is built from tracks by emerging artists, paid for the minutes people listen. If your music sits still for an hour, send it.
